Our Story
Why I Chose Kindness as My Life’s Work (Sonal Fozdar – Founder)
It all started with a simple act—serving not just food, but smiles, care, and dignity to those in need. When my children were young, I encouraged them to distribute essentials and food, teaching them the power of compassion and generosity. But when they left to study abroad, I felt a deep calling to continue this mission myself.
One morning, I decided to keep going. I began serving breakfast to daily wage workers—a small but meaningful way to bring nourishment, hope, and happiness into their day. As I witnessed their gratitude, I realized something powerful: kindness doesn’t just change the lives of those we help; it transforms us too.
But then a thought struck me—How much can I do alone? What began as a small act of kindness soon blossomed into something much greater. People around me started saying, "I want to be a part of this too." I realized kindness thrives in togetherness—it was never meant to be a solo journey. So, I created a trust where more people could contribute, with complete transparency, ensuring that together, we could serve more and more lives with love, dignity, and purpose.
A Journey of Kindness: How It All Began
On April 1, 2022, we served our first meal of idli—a simple yet significant beginning of a movement rooted in love and shared responsibility. What started as one person’s effort soon became a collective mission, as a growing community of like-hearted individuals came together to serve.
To expand our impact and create sustainable change, we officially became a charitable trust on October 24, 2024. Today, our work extends beyond meals—we focus on empowerment, skill development, and long-term solutions to uplift lives and create self-sufficiency.
With every meal served, every skill taught, and every heart touched, we move closer to a world where hope, respect, and happiness reach everyone. Because kindness isn’t just about giving—it’s about building a future where no one is invisible, and everyone is valued.
Together, we can continue spreading smiles—one act of kindness at a time.
